Your files are never uploaded. All compression happens inside your browser, on your own device.

Your files

When you compress an image, PDF, document, video or audio file on this site, that file is read and processed entirely by your web browser using your device's own processor. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. We do not receive it, store it, see it, or keep any record that it existed.

Once you close or refresh the page, everything is gone from memory. You can confirm this for yourself by disconnecting from the internet after the page has loaded — the tool will keep working.

What we do collect

We use analytics software to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they use. This records general information such as approximate location by country, browser type, device type, and which pages were viewed. It does not identify you personally and it has no access to your files.

Advertising

This site is supported by advertising. Third-party advertising networks, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.

These advertising partners operate independently of us. Their use of any data they collect is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

Processing engines

The image, PDF, document and audio tools use processing software served directly from this site. No third party is contacted when you use them.

The video tool is the exception. Its engine is around 30MB, too large to serve here, so it is downloaded once from unpkg.com, a public repository of open-source code. That service can see that a file was requested from your internet address, in the same way any website you visit can. It does not receive, and cannot see, the video you are compressing. The file is verified against a cryptographic fingerprint before it is allowed to run, so tampered code cannot execute.

Cookies

We do not set cookies ourselves for any purpose related to the compression tool. Any cookies present on the site come from the analytics and advertising services described above.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal information that identifies you, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve, correct, or delete on request. For data held by the advertising and analytics providers, contact those companies directly or use the opt-out links above.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date at the top.
